Dear Jmail Users,

Now it is December and in a few days I will be 40.

First the good news:

1. blogs are working. check out www.moon.co.jp

2. Jmail logins are working

3. mail is flowing -- both incoming and outgoing

a. We have one -incoming- mail server now. We are planning to build more so incoming email can be delivered quicker. When mail volume is huge, mail delivery gets slow. Your support and donations are paying for the next server. Thank you.

Now, the not quite good news yet:

1. password changes and function changes are not live today. The ability to change your passwords, your account information and request new services and upgrades automaticaly is 90% ready.

2. Once the system is back in place, very soon, we will then look at data recovery from the hard disks that contain Jmail user's old mail.

a. because of the price estimates we will have to wait until more Jmail users upgrade.
b. we are hoping for an angel investor (you know who you are). Jmail has three dream numbers:

i. $50,000 - pays for attempt to fix data disks and buys more servers for making Jmail faster and better
ii. $500,000 - Jmail becomes all free again and we start launching new services
iii. $5,000,000 - Jmail offers 2GB free email, webspace and blogs. We build a super system, I mean a really super system.

Now for the Plain News:

The founders of Jmail are working to bring her back to health are Bradley Bartz, Burzin Engineer and Tomoko Sakai. Jmail has no "staff" All of us have other jobs and activities which has made these problems with Jmail very hard to handle. As founders we wish to thank the hundreds of Jmail users that sent emails to support and encourage us. It should also be noted that, earlier this year, Mr. Tetsuro Nishida flew to New Zealand at his expense to fix the latest version of Jmail to support Japanese. Thank you Nishi.

Things you can do to help:

1. upgrade or donate. Until we have an angel investor it is up to individual Jmail users to help pay for Programs, Power and Pipe.
2. Introduce new services to Jmail for Jmail users. We may be struggling, but we will continue to offer new services to Jmail users.
3. Adopt a Jmail Domain name: as you know we have 100+ .co.jp domain names. Adoption rates are:

a. $100 a year - Bronze Sponsor - Recognition on our to be created Adoption Page
b. $1000 a year - Silver Sponsor - Name or words or small banner on domain's front web page
c. $10,000 a year - Gold Sponsor - Full page advertisements on front page
d. $100,000 a year - Super Duper Sponsor - except for Jmail email/blog services, you control the domain.

まずは良いお知らせから・・・

(1)ブログが作動しています。www.monn.co.jp をチェックしてみてください。

(2)Jmailのログインができるようになっています。

(3)メールの送受信ができるようになっています。

a.現在受信サーバーは一台のみですが、台数を増やして受信速度を上げたいと思っております。メールのサイズが大きいと受信速度が遅くなります。ユーザー様の サポートとご寄付でサーバーが増やせるかと思っております。ご協力ありがとうございます。


以下はまだ良いお知らせにはなっておりませんが・・・

１、パスワード変更機能はまだ出来上がっていません。アップグレード、パスワードの変更、機能追加を自動的に行うシステムを現在作っており、 90%ほどできている状況です。

2、システムができてもとの状態に戻れば(もうすぐ・・・)過去のメールのデーターリカバリーのほうへ移れると思います。

しかしながら・・・

a.過去のメール復旧にかかる費用が多大のため、もっと多くのユーザーの方にアップグレードしていただくのを待たなければなりません。

b.投資家の方が現れれば、事は早く進むと思います。以下は予算別サービス改善の構想です。

ⅰ.$50,000 過去のメールを含んだディスクの修理費(かならずしも修復できるという保証はありませんが)、新しいサーバーの購入費(Jmailがもっと早く、 よりよいサービスになる)を賄えます。
ⅱ.$500,000 Jmailが全て無料になって、新サービスを開始できます。
ⅲ.$5,000,000 Jmailは2GB(ギガバイト)の電子メール、ウェブスペース、ブログを無料で提供できます。(スーパーシステム！)

以下は普通のお知らせです。

前回のメッセージでお伝えしたとおり、新しいシステムと過去のメールの修復を別個に二つのシステムで取り組んでおります。
上では新しいシステム　(まだ完成ではありませんが・・・)　のほうを紹介しております。過去のメールのほうはまだです。

JMAIL FORWARDING SERVICE

From now on only upgrade Jmail members will be able to forward Jmail email to cell phones or any other email account. This means that all of the email that comes to your Jmail account can be forwarded automatically to an outside acount. What are the benefits?

  • Second copy of your email, one on Jmail and one on an outside account.
  • Keep using your cool Jmail address.
  • Forwarding is less system intense, overall service will be better.
  • Store and Forward for your Cell Phone is real convenient.

    YOUR SUPPORT MEANS NEW SERVERS

    We have 100 cool .co.jp domains for you to choose from.

    Japan has expensive domains. The low use domains will be put up for "adoption" with the new "domain parent" having some or all of that domains content control.

    これよりアップグレードのメンバー様にはJmailの転送サービスを開始いたします。 つまりJmailに送られたメールがお持ちの携帯電話や他のメールアドレスに自動転送され、 転送先のメールアカウントでJmailが受信できます。

    利点は・・・

  • JmailアカウントともうひとつのアカウントでJmailがチェックできます。 (転送先のメールアカウントがPOPアカウント-コンピューターにダウンロードできるタイプ-の場合、 Jmailに送られたメールもコンピューターに保存されます。)

  • 転送サービスはサーバーの負荷を軽くします。(質の向上につながります)

    日本のco.jpドメイン名は大変コスト高でお金がかかります。あまり使用されないドメイン名の ホームページ領域の全てまたは一部の貸し出しを検討しています。

    メールの送信に時間がかかっています

    もし、メール送信の際にエラーメッセージが表示されたら、少し待ってもう一度送信を試みてください。 （何度か繰り返していただく必要があるかもしれません。）

    繰り返しになりますが、皆様のサポートのものと もっと処理速度の速い新しいサーバーの購入が可能となります。

    Dear Jmail Users.

    We are close.

    Sorry for being so late in this message. We have been working hard to get mail back up and working.

    We have incoming mail coming in.

    We have the web login mail interfaces also. I am working on the final testing now.

    Old mail has not been recovered. We are moving forward with new mail. In paralell we will send the broken netapp hard disk shelf in for hopeful recovery.

    To be fair to the Netapp. We are using the good hard disks and shelfs for the going forward service.

    To those who donated via paypal! Thank you! Many of you also offered to donate via bank account. Once we have the service fully operational we will list ways to support Jmail. With your support we will buy better equipment and run a better service.

    復活できる日が近くなってきました。
    大変長らくお待たせしてしまい申し訳ありません。
    メールがまた使用できるように一生懸命努力しております。

    現在、最終テストの段階です。
    ログインインターフェースを再作成し、新しいメールの受信を確認しています。

    過去のメールはまだ復帰していません。新しいメールシステムに取り組んでいます。
    しかしながら、それと平行して、過去のデータのリカバリーの望みをもって、故障したネットアップのハードディスクを データ引き出しの専門家のもとへ送る計画をしています。

    無傷のネットアップのハードディスクは続行して使用します。

    ペイパルから寄付をしてくださいました方々、銀行振込から寄付を送ってくださるとお申し出下さった方々、どうもありがとうございます。 Jmailサービスが復帰しましたら、どうやってJmailをサポートできるか掲示させていただきたいと思っています。 お客様のサポートで高性能な機器、高質なサービスが提供できるかと思います。
